I was an Amy supporter (voted for her on Super Tuesday before she dropped out) early on. I still like her and she would be the backbone in the Biden/Klobuchar ticket.
Stacey, Elizabeth and Pete all deserve cabinet positions once Trumplethinskintinyhandserialadulterer is bounced out on his tuchus in November.
Benghaz1i! Say it soft, it's Republicans playing; Say it loud and it's Hannity braying; Benghazi! They'll never stop singing Benghazi, The silliest slur there ever were: Benghazzzziiiiiiii!
No-Nonsense Amy would probably be better than anyone else in terms of experience and visibility. Do I remember that Obama put off appointing Warren to the Consumer Protection Bureau?
Obama found someone who wasn't Warren but who was acceptable to Warren in hopes of appeasing Republicans, who were telling him it would be an insult to them if he named Warren. He also sought to calm Wall Street, a mighty fortress which is the D's bank. The appointee was Richard Cordray, who advised Warren's campaign and endorsed Biden yesterday.
The Republicans returned the favor by leaving enough Obama court appointees hanging that The Don had to dredge the weaker sludge of the Federalist Society to fill all his vacancies. Then he sent Mick Mulvaney (now planning to celebrate Paddy Day in Erin) to make sure no consumers were protected by he Consumer Protection Agency. The Rs are also in court arguing -- backed by George F. Will, the butler to the Midwestern wealthy class -- that the agency has too much power anyway. What happened to Cordray, who did have a couple of good years, probably would have happened, more noisily, to Warren. Instead, she ran for the Senate and inconvenienced the Rs in other ways.
Proving, there is no point in compromising with scorpions because they will follow their natures.
As I guess I've said before: I think Warren would be a stronger play than Klobuchar for Uncle Joe. She's more progressive, so she might mollify disgruntled Bernie Bros and Sis's who need to turn out on election day. She has a higher national profile than Klobuchar. She'd probably tear Pence a new one in a debate.
Or what about this? Tulsi is 38. A ticket with some intergenerational balance? Give Warren a meaty cabinet position like Treasury where she can actually make policy and get things done.
If Warren ends up a cabinet member, she better be her usually noisy self. Otherwise, she's a token progressive. Some say two billionaires are in the pool of possibles: Bloomberg and Jamie Dimon. Double yuck on the second one.
I had to look up Jamie Dimon. He's had heart surgery. Bloomberg is older than Joe. I think the pressure will really be on Joe to pick someone younger. It should be.
I think Biden will do it. He has to show that billionaires will still be running the show and not from behind the scenes. I can't see Warren in the same room as Dimon unless she totally sells out which is not impossible. Biden is totally deaf to or indifferent to the concerns of progressives.
I'd rather see Stacey Abrams, Amy Klobuchar of Elizabeth Warren.
ReplyDeleteBut a woman VP running mate is an absolute necessity!!!
Noooo! He should choose Warren, or Stacey Abrams, or Klobuchar.
ReplyDeleteWouldn't Stacey Abrams be great!

Hillary would be a great choice if you want Trump to win.

Tom, that's pretty good :-)
DeleteThe fact that Amy endorsed Joe early and is all over Michigan tells me she's the likeliest candidate. I don't think Abrams has enough visibility.

My vote is for Warren, or Klobuchar. Let Tulsi get a job on Fox, or MSN.
