A Perfect Specimen of What?

“I’m back because I’m a perfect physical specimen and I’m extremely young.”

“To my favorite people in the world, the seniors… I’m a senior. I know you don’t know that. Nobody knows that. Maybe you don’t have to tell them. But I’m a senior.”
Should an obese stable genius who babbles like that be let out of Walter Reed, even if he does not have COVID-19?
 Seriously.

  1. I was told by my OR nurse friend that the steroids make you feel really, really good. The background level of aches and pains concomitant with age is gone. Thus the Orange Lunatic says he feels twenty years younger. He probably does. For now. Steroids eventually kill you. The Orange Lunatic's steroids may kill us.

    1. I'm guessing the crash when the steroids wear off isn't too fun. Question is, is the prez in a cranky mood worse than when he is in a euphoric mood? I'm sure we'll be finding out.

    2. It's easy to feel great on steroids, ignore the underlying illness, and then collapse from exhaustion because you aren't giving your body time to recover properly. Covid may not get Trump, but his rush to get back in front of cameras might be unwise. Staggering off stage or being carted away in a stretcher is not he look he's going for, especially as he's trying to cast Biden as a dodderer.

  2. The last time I went to a doctor appointment, the lab gave me a cup with a lid and an alcohol wipe and sent me into the bathroom. In all modesty, I emerged with a perfect specimen, too.

  3. Crazy Nancy Pelosi is looking at the 25th Amendment in order to replace Joe Biden with Kamala Harris. The Dems want that to happen fast because Sleepy Joe is out of it!!!

    1. Um, we know who is out of it. Srsly, how does anyone trust this guy to run the country?
Did you see the tweet about how California is letting millions of gallons of water flow into the ocean to save some little fishes that don't have enough water?

  4. Has anyone heard how the other Rose Garden victims are doing, if any of them have been hospitalized? I have seen nothing in the media, not even about Melania. I guess if you're not Trump, you don't count.

    1. The updates are out there, but Trump is "on" 24/7, so you really have to go looking for news on per people.

    2. According to this article from Forbes, dated Oct. 7, 34 people have tested positive from the Rose Garden event. We know Chris Christie is still in the hospital. Kayleigh MacEnany says she is feeling fine and plans to go back to work Saturday. Melania Trump is convalescing at the White House and plans to stay there as long as she is recovering. Crickets on everybody else, since they're not contact tracing or sharing any information.

  5. Adult ICU beds are at 93% occupancy in the Omaha area. This is nearly a tenfold increase from less than a month ago. The governor's policy has been pretty laissez faire as long as the hospitals aren't maxed out. We'll se what he does now.

    1. Hoping thing slow down for states experiencing rises. Mask compliance has been better, but rallies against Whitmer attended by GOP legislature leaders is ushering in another period of non-compliance as the Michigan rate rises.

  6. Speaking of "perfect specimens," a friend sent me this from the Business Insider:

"President Donald Trump, who contracted the coronavirus earlier this month, floated an idea to surprise observers by ripping open his button-down shirt to reveal a Superman t-shirt underneath, according to a New York Times report published Saturday.

"Trump made several calls during his stay at the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center last week, in which he proposed the idea of first appearing physically weak to observers, people familiar with the matter reportedly said. Upon leaving the hospital, he would rip open his dress shirt to reveal a shirt with the famous Superman logo, according to The Times."

How utterly laughable and sad at the same time. The president wants to pull a practical joke worthy of a 10-year-old boy on everbody ... a joke that would telegraph "weakling" to those who didn't make it out of the hospital with covid or to those who are stuck with chronic problems.

Fortunately (for him), somebody talked him out of it.

Frankly, I think they should just drop the leash and muzzle and let him go.

    1. I saw that too. I agree, just let him demonstrate how nutty he is. Of course it will make no difference to his base. However there was a share on FB this morning that said, basically, they weren't voting for Trump per se, but for apple pie and the American Way. It's a sign that you know your candidate is weak when you have to say you're not really voting for him, but your party values.
