Six Simple Numbers

In February our Granddaughter Katie visited us for a week during semester break from the school in Taiwan, where she teaches English to Mandarin speakers. Actually, her school is on the island of Kinmen, formerly known as Quemoy,  half of the famed duo of Quemoy and Matsu in the 1960 presidential debates. While she was here, the school notified her that it would start three weeks later than scheduled to deal with the coronavirus that had showed up in China.
She wondered if she should hang out here instead of going back right away. On one hand, Air Canada might decide not to fly to Asia in three more weeks, and on the other hand, The Don said everything was under control; we had one case, and it came from China. She decided, all things considered, that it would be safer where they were taking precautions than in the USA where The Don was behind the curve and proud of it. On the day she left, he said, "We've pretty much shut it down."
So after the two countries started even, where do we stand one month and four days later, on Palm Sunday?
Palm Beach County, pop. 1.5 million: 954 cases, 35 dead.
Taiwan, pop. 23.8 million: 355 cases, 5 dead.
